Founded as Bank in Winterthur, UBS began life in 1862 at the beginning of the Swiss banking industry. Bank of Winterthur merged with Toggenburger Bank in 1912, forming the Union Bank of Switzerland. Union Bank of Switzerland merged with longtime competitor Swiss Bank Corporation in 1998 to form the current incarnation of UBS.

UBS has been providing asset management services in the UK for five decades and creates bespoke opportunities for its clients to invest in emerging opportunities. These services are aimed at corporations, pension schemes, insurance companies, charities, private banks and fund managers.

The wealth management division works with high net worth individuals to create bespoke financial planning; from business succession to planning for retirement, philanthropy and sustainable investing. Customers can also choose from several financing and lending options, plus services for trusts and foundations. The wealth management division also offers specialist services for professional service companies and charities.

UBS’ investment banking division offers services including:
