About Metro Bank
Metro Bank is a retail bank based in the United Kingdom. Founded in 2010 by Vernon Hill and Anthony Thomson, it is the first new high street bank to open in the UK in more than 150 years. By 2013, the bank had more than 200,000 personal account customers and 15,000 business customers.
On receiving its banking licence in March 2010, Metro opened its first branch in Holborn in July of that year. The founders stated an intention to open 250 stores by 2020. By 2013, the bank had pre-tax losses of more than £100milliion since launch due to initiatives for rapid expansion; account holders increased by 2013 in the first half of 2013 alone.
Metro Bank acquired SME Finance in August 2013 and rebranded the company as Metro Bank SME Finance in 2014.
Metro Bank is listed on the FTSE 250 and the London Stock Exchange.

Metro Bank Reviews
“Very good branch experience and app. BUT what on earth is the reason for the pathetic low interest rates on east access savings? The bank is raising rate to 1”
Very good branch experience and app. BUT what on earth is the reason for the pathetic low interest rates on east access savings? The bank is raising rate to 1.65% but this is grossly low compared with general rates and other easy access banks. I don’t want to switch my savings BUT the bank is forcing me to with its meanness.
“Awful bank. Everything is hard work so we are closing the account and moving to NatWest”
Awful bank. Everything is hard work so we are closing the account and moving to NatWest. I’ve been paying cash in for years yet today I’m told it’s against policy and they refused to give me my wife’s card back. A formal complaint will follow however be warned anyone thinking of opening an account I would suggest you go elsewhere. The Epsom branch is just appalling. I had to give one star to enable a post otherwise it would have been a 0!
“Nothing, that They're good for. Useless Bank snd staff”
Nothing, that They're good for. Useless Bank snd staff. You will pay me what you owe me. Bunch of clowns
“I am trying to transfer an ISA from Scottish Widows to my newly opened ISA with Metro Bank”
I am trying to transfer an ISA from Scottish Widows to my newly opened ISA with Metro Bank. It's been 6 weeks since Metro started the transfer which is supposed to take about 15 days and it still hasn't arrived in my Metro ISA. I am not impressed.
