BFC Exchange was founded in 2003 as EzRemit Limited, aimed at providing customers with the ability to send money overseas with competitive foreign exchange rates. EzRemit became part of BFC Group after Islamic financial services group Bank Alkhair bought a controlling stake in Bahrain Financing Company (BFC).

Now in its second decade, BFC Exchange has more than 46,000 agents in 30 countries and ten physical branches mostly in the London area.

BFC Exchange Products and Services

BFC Exchange is specifically focused on providing money transfer and currency exchange services to customers. Their online remittance service, named Smart Money, offers a flexible service responsive to customers’ differing needs. Customers can:

  • Transfer money to bank accounts worldwide
  • Transfer money for instant cash collection
  • Manage beneficiaries
  • See all transactions with online statements
  • Transfer money online 24 hours a day, seven days a week
  • Enjoy the best possible foreign currency exchange rates
  • 0% commission on more than 60 currencies

BFC Exchange also has an optional Buy Back service, offering a buyback of foreign currency at the same exchange rate as at purchase. Foreign currency can be exchanged within 31 days of purchase for just £3.99 at any BFC Exchange branch. Proof of purchase must be provided.
