Bank Mandiri, as an international bank, does not focus solely on Indonesian customers, but state that their Indonesian ownership gives them a special insight into Indonesian business and banking practices.

Corporate, commercial and business banking customers with Bank Mandiri can take out loans, make deposits and access a full portfolio of in branch and online banking services. The micro and retail arm of the bank focuses on offering services to individual customers in these segments, including loans, mortgages, credit cards and current accounts.

Bank Mandiri also has a treasury, financial institution and special assets management segment; this team works on foreign exchange, international business banking, abandoned properties management, non-performing loans and fixed income business. It also handles Cayman Islands branch operations.

As well as the now-standard online banking service, Mandiri customers can also bank via SMS (for iPhone, Android and Blackberry). This service allows customers to make transfers, payments and purchases, check their balance and view their transaction history.

Bank Mandiri is overseen by Otoritas Jasa Keuangan, the Indonesian Financial Services Authority. Security information, and how to keep your account safe, is available on their website. The website also has an ‘instant chat’ function where customers can report potential problems immediately to a member of the Customer Service team.
